CVS and Freebies

I went to CVS Friday and I just have to tell you about my deals:
The Fusion cartridges were about $15 and then $3 ECB back. I also had a coupon for a free Gilette razor wyb fusion cartridges.

Scott's paper towels were on sale for $4.99 for 6 rolls and $1 off coupon.

Reach dental floss was $1.99 each. I had a bogo coupon and then $1 off, so $1 for both.
Listerine pocketpacs were $2.15 and then I had $.50 off.
With these three items, I also had $3 off with CVS, so I made money

I paid ECB for all but $4.65. My savings were over $30

I love freebies. Here is a picture showing different coupon books and samples that have come in the mail in the last few days. I'll try to notify you when I find out about these

Do you have freebies you get in the mail?

Just a few more things before I head to bed:
  • Vistaprint has 100 free postcards until 4/22. Just pay shipping. You can customize these to use as invitations
  • CVS has a green tag you can buy to put on your recyclable bag. This cost $.99 but you get $1 for every 4 visits this is scanned. You can quickly start to profit from this. Also, you probably know you get $.05 per bag at Target.

Anyways, it is past my bedtime, so the other deals will just have to wait :) Does anyone have exciting weekend plans? We may go see the Air Force Thunderbirds free air show in Montgomery this Saturday. Anyone want to come with us?

Oh the deals!

Alright my blog friends. I think I'm really starting to get the hang of this coupon shopping thing.

First stop, Publix:
Penny Item Publix Italian dressing which I really wanted. Normally $2 but $.01

Schick Quattro 3 razors were $6.99, on sale for $4.99 and then a $4 off coupon for $.99

Birdeye's Veggies are 50%, so I got 5 veggies originally $8.95 for all; I had 2 Publix $1 off 2; 1 $.35 that was doubled to $.70 off and then another $1 off 3 for a total of  $.73! I feel like I just robbed Publix...$8.95 worth of veggies for $.73! Yahoo!

Kraft shredded cheese on sale for 3 for $5 for $1.67

Ore-Ida Steam n Mash originally $2.99 and they were bogo; then I had two $1 off coupons for $1 each

Orville Redenbacher popping corn kernels were $4.89 and then bogo for $2.45

Scotties face tissues were $1.35; on sale for $.99 and then I had a $1 off coupon so I made a penny

Lysol Fresh disenfectant was $2.69 and then bogo; I had $.50 off that was doubled to $1 off; I paid $.35!

I got some Velveeta shells for my hubby that were bogo so 2 for $2 instead of 2 for $4

Rotel dice tomatoes were $1.33 and then bogo for $.69

Scott toilet paper was $10.89; on clearance for $7.89 because they are changing the packaging and then I had $1 off. But wait, because I bought Scott papertowels a few days ago, I get a $2 mail in rebate for buying 2 Scott's products.

I spent $19.98 and saved $36.77

Target was the next stop:

The Rimmel mascera was $2.24 and I had a $3 off coupon, so I made $.76 off this deal

Jonathan needed more Nivea body wash; it was $3.99 and then I had a $2 off coupon for $1.99

Tyson anytizers boneless wings are something we wanted to try. Target had them for $6.99 and then I had $1.50 off for $5.49

Physician's Formula mirror and compact bamboo things are $5.99; I had a Target bogo coupon, so one was free. I also have a mail in rebate if I get one that has the Try me Free sticker, I get that money back. so both will eventually be free. I think I am going back to get the normally $12 foundation for $3 for 2 so I can put that in my new compact.

I had two free Vitamin Water coupons and each was $1.19

Total was $32.86. I had a $5 gift card. After coupons and sales, I spent $12.49 and then $5.99 is coming back to me in the mail. Great trip.

This month, I have spent $267.12 on stocking up since we had no groceries after our trip and getting different household items. I have saved $275.34. I also have $27.99 on the way in mail in rebates. I know I can do better, so I'm excited about next month.

Awesome Deals at Rite Aid

Ok, quick update from my Rite Aid trip during lunch...

I went to get the bogo Covergirl mascera since mine is almost gone. Rite Aid's deal was buy one, get one free. I also had a Covergirl face coupon for buy one get one free, so 2 mascera's FREE! But wait...there's more to this infomercial. The cashier also let me use a $2.50 off covergirl mascera coupon. Rite Aid paid me $2.50 for two things of $8.99 mascera!

Also, they had Pepsi 12 pack drinks on sale 4 for $10 with their in ad coupon. I never see drinks this cheap, so I got 4 packs of those.

Total for this trip was $9.35. I could have saved a few more dollars, but I needed to get back to work. It was enough excitement to get me through the rest of this work day.

Also, here is a cute story for your enjoyment. My sister is really big into couponing also. She taught my niece who is 2 1/2 a song about "We're going to get the deals." As my sister is walking through CVS with her coupon binder, my niece is singing "We're going to get the deals." How cute is that! That would be my kid! Got to love how the coupon spirit spreads.

Happy Tuesday hunting!!!!!!!!!!

By Popular Demand....

After many requests, I am finally putting my "deals" in writing for you to enjoy. I'm happy to share my knowledge, but still overwhelmed/unorganized to get to this step earlier. I'll keep updating this journey as I go, but here is a start.

First, here are the main blogs I use to learn about stores and current sales:

A few deals you need to check out now!
  • HotPrints for a free photo book each month. You will not even pay shipping! I am going to work on mine for Mother's Day gifts, so great present to make your Mom feel special. This is going to be a paper book, but not a bad deal for FREE! Can I say free enough????? Please post for any other ideas you intend to use this for.
  • Picaboo has FREE 20 page large hardcover book for just shipping. This is normally $40, but with the code AFFLGB, you can get this for around $8 shipping. This expires March 31, so move fast. This is also for first time customers only. I intend to use this for our trip pictures.
  • Shutterfly - Sign up now and receive 50 FREE 4 x 6 prints. With code SHIP30, you will also receive free shipping on overs $30 and more.
  • Walgreens Photo - sign up here by March 29 to receive 20 free 4 x 6 prints
I also complete surveys and different tasks to get points or money that can be used for gift cards to save on our grocery bill even more. I will go into detail about them later, and if you are interested, please comment or email me. I would like to refer you and get more points :)
  • MyPoints - complete surveys, read emails and get a free daily spin for points. These can be redeemed for gift cards. You can complete offers and shop through this website to get points per dollar spent. I'm to the half way point to get $25 gift card to Kohls or I have enough for a $10 gift card to Pizza Hut. This is just from a few weeks or reading emails.
  • SwagBucks - you will get codes for just using their search engine on certain products. I am still learning about this one, so updates to come. You will again get points to redeem for gift cards or merchandise.
  • InBox Dollars - you will complete surverys, read emails and complete offers for cash. Once you get at least $30, a check will be sent to you. You get $.02 for each email you read and $.50 for each survey. This isn't a lot, but over 2 weeks of just emails, I have almost earned $10.
Again, please let me refer you.
This is just the beginning of sharing my couponing knowledge, but please comment what works for you, feedback on this post and what else you would like to see. Hopefully soon I will be hosting a coupon class, which should be exciting!
I hope everyone is having a great, cold and wet Monday morning!
P.S. thanks to all the Life Connection people for a fun gathering last night and best wishes to Jason and Lacey!

Quick run to CVS and Wal-mart

I wanted to get some deals from Wal-mart and CVS before they ran out. I think a pretty successful shopping trip. Sorry if you think the pictures are nerdy but I have to measure my progress somehow.

2 bottles of Pantene at CVS $6.97 before sales. I had a $3 off 2 and then paid $2 with Extra Care Bucks. I paid $2.42 and received $2 more Extra Care Bucks. My ECB total is now to $8!

3 bottles of Olay body wash at Wal-mart were $3.87 each and I had 2 $1 coupons. Also, I have a $15 mail in rebate when I purchase 3 bottles of Olay. With that and the Q-tips we needed, that $15 rebate pays for tonights shopping trip!

Conclusion: getting shampoo, conditioner, 3 bottles of Olay body wash and q-tips for free?...AWESOME!

I'm loving this new hobby!

Let me start by saying this has been a great weekend. We rented Couple's Retreat Friday night, which is hilarious! Then Saturday was a church missions lunch with our Life Connection group. Great missionaries from Tennessee, great company and amazing food!
Then Sunday...coupon shopping day!!!!!
I did some shopping at Publix Thursday night where I got a gallon of milk, chips ahoy cookies, 2 boxes of devil food cookies, bird's eye veggies, and soft soap hand soap for $9.11. My first trip to Publix today is pictured below...
Let me break down the fantastic deals:
The only thing that wasn't on sale or a coupon for was the Simply Orange for $3.79
6 cups of Dannon yogurt for $.40 each and a coupon for .60 off 6
Dannon greek yogurt FREE
2 snickers bars $.89 each but then I had a coupon for $.50 off 2, but wait...Publix doubles that to $1 off so $.78 for 2
Softsoap hand wash for $1 for one on sale and then a $.35 off that doubles to $.70 off for a total of $.30
I was in desperate need for nail clippers because I have managed to loss 2 pairs since our trip :(. Publix paid me $.21 to take the Revlon nail clippers home after my $1 off coupon! It doesn't get better than being paid to buy a product.
Lunchable sandwich on sale for $1 each but then I had a $.75 off coupon so I paid $.25 for one
Publix had Kelloggs cereal 50% Saturday and Sunday, so Apple Jacks were $2 a box. I had $1 off purchase of 2 so $3 for two boxes. I haven't bought name brand cereal in probably a year because it is outrageously expensive. I wanted to jump up and down on this deal.
Pasta Fettucini on sale $.65 one because it was bogo
Streamfresh veggies on sale for 50% off. I had publix coupon for $1 off 2 and manufacturer coupon for $1 off 3. I spent $1.27 for 3 bags
Streamfresh meal for two was originally $6.99. I had a publix coupon for $1.50 off and manufacturer coupon for $1.50 off. This was $4 so not too bad
Totinos pizza rolls were bogo, so I bought one for $2
Hormel beef tips bogo for $1.25 each
Dreamfield spagetti noodles are much better with carbs so they are $1.99 each but I had 2 $1 off coupons so each were $1.
Musketeer candies were on clearance for 50% originally $.84. I had a coupon to buy 2 and get 1 free, so $.84 for 3
I had 2 Target $.50 on each Sobe water, and Publix uses competitor coupons so $.50 each. Publix doesn't double competitor coupons so not free unfortunately :(
Total cost before sales and coupons: $57.92
After sales and coupons: $28.46
More than 50% off!
Jonathan went with me to Publix again, CVS and Piggly Wiggly. This shopping trip was even better....

CVS:
2 bottles of Pantene are $6.97 and I go through conditioner pretty fast. I had a $3 off 2 bottles from today's paper and then $4 extra care bucks. I spent $1.04 with this and the dawn detergent and then got another $2 to use towards another purchase. I'm going to go back and get this deal again. This brings my extra care bucks to $6 so more free conditioner!
Piggly Wiggly:
5 lb bag of flour was on sale for $1.59. I had a $.75 off one that was doubled! I paid $.09 for 5 lbs of flour!!!!!
2 bags of malt of meal cereal for $3 so that total was $3.50. I'm stocking up on cereal while I can find it pretty reasonable.
Publix:
I bought another Bham paper in the first trip but forgot to take it in the picture. It has over $300 of coupons so I was glad to pay $2 for another.
We bought 2 boxes of Raisen Bran for $2 each and then another $1 off 2 coupon brought the total of Publix to $3.34. The bag girl was amazed and how cheap we got our cereal.
Our pantry looks more loved now!
