Desoto Caverns

Sunday afternoon, Jonathan and I drove to Childersburg to visit the Desoto Caverns. I have to say this is a neat place to go on a hot summer day...the cave is always at 60 degrees. My camera pictures didn't turn out too well, but here are a few:

There is also a light show you get to watch. Since this cave is privately owned, they have a cross hanging in the cave, the light shows are centered around God and the tour guides can talk about God. This is a great place to support. The neat thing is you can pay $5 a ticket to upgrade to an annual pass. We did that, so we are now up for a trip to the cave at any time.

All the walking in the cave created an appetite, so we went to Yogurt Mountain. Here is what we split:
I promise there is yogurt underneath all the gummy worms and bears.

Snapfish

I haven't posted any deals in a while, so here is  one for you:

Snapfish is offering a free 8x10 collage print when you use the code FBFREEBIE at checkout. Shipping appears to be around $.99. This is only available thru July 5th.

Great Movies

I'll post some pictures later about the wonderful Sunday Jonathan and I had, but here are a few great movies you should see:

Leap Year

This was a great movie primarily based in Ireland of a woman trying to find her true love. Not too emotionally sad if you don't like to cry in movies. It was too chick-flicky for Jonathan, but I loved it. This movie made me excited about going to Ireland one day.

The other movie I actually saw last night is Dear John

I think I probably cried for half of the movie, but it has a happy story to it. This story will hit home with many people since it takes place during the time of 9-11. I'm a sucker for anything Nicholas Sparks though.

Next movie that we are going to watch is Old Dogs with John Travolta and Robin Williams. This is probably some good laughs waiting to happen.

Birmingham Zoo

My sister and her family came to Birmingham Friday and Saturday from Mobile. We went to the B'ham Zoo Saturday morning. I hadn't been there, and the highlight of animals were kangaroos. We go to Australia and find out we can see these hopping animals in our own backyard. And there was an Australian guy working there, so that was cool. Here are a few pictures:

I wanted to take this little guy home

This was some scary horse back riding
My niece and I walking on a rope bridge.

The trip to the zoo made me really miss being in Brisbane at the Australian Zoo :( I hope you all have a great week and a had a great day with your Dad.

Weekend and Coupon Shopping

Sorry I am just working on a new post....what an insane week this has been. We went to Linden Saturday morning for a family reunion and then had some fun at home with water balloons. Here is a glimpse into that trip:

My sister, niece and I
My Dad is taking a break from making the balloons to throwing them
Every tried water bowling?
We got brave and starting throwing them at each other

This is my kitty kat that still lives at my parents, Patches. He looked a little bored

Then Saturday night, we went to see some of Jonathan's family. Our aunt and uncle from Pittsburgh was down for the weekend.

Aunt Nancy came to our wedding from Pittsburg with Uncle Don. I gave them my bouquet since they traveled the farthest. Aunt Elizabeth preserved my bouquet, so here are Aunt Nancy and I one year later.

Here are the remainders of the delicious Lemon Merinque (spell?) pie that I made. The first one went fast, and not much left of the second.

Now, for my CVS trip. I got all of this, $95 worth for taxes, $5.40. I was pretty excited. I didn't even get to the ECB that I needed to use up. That means another trip at lunch today for me.

Happy Thursday.
